Hey there!

My name is Karen Bates, the creator and designer of Eclipz Wigs. I have been doing wig and hair styling since I was a little girl. I was considered a child prodigy when it came to hair, I styled my first cornrows at 3 years old. They were in the shape of a butterfly. When I was 8 I started to buy used Barbie dolls and fix their hair and restyle them. I made tons of wigs, all for dolls. Growing up I was faced with many tough situations, but styling hair and wigs kept my hands busy and gave me a way to escape into a world of fashion and creativity. Working with hair kickstarted my interest in fashion and beauty and I began looking into becoming a makeup artist, I have been doing it now for 10 years.

Now, I have worked all over the place. I have worked on music videos, award winning movies, hair extensions, wig refurbishing as well as working with photographers and models of all kinds. I was awarded Canada's #1 hair stylist by Hair Dressers Magazine two years in a row.

I was at a photoshoot with a model who was having trouble fitting her dreadlocks underneath the wig. I realized that there needed to be a company that made wigs that could be worn by anyone, and Eclipz Wigs was born. I make wigs that fit everyone and look great on anyone.
